Pairwise Shared Ancestry in Random-Mating Constant-Size Populations
نویسندگان
چکیده
In a panmictic population of constant size N, random pairs individuals will have most recent shared ancestor who lived slightly more than 0.5 log2N generations previously, on average. The probability that pair share at least one ago, or recently, is about 50%. Those individuals, if they do an from generation, would be cousins degree (0.5 log2N) - 1. Shared ancestry progressively earlier increases rapidly until there universal pairwise ancestry. At point, every individual has ancestors in common with other the population, although different may ancestors. approximately 0.7 past, recently. Qualitatively, ancestries 50% similarity for 0.9 before present. That is, half generation belonging to member are present also genealogy member. Qualitative 99% 1.4 past. Similar results apply metric quantitative genealogical overlap.

Effective size of nonrandom mating populations.
Nonrandom mating whereby parents are related is expected to cause a reduction in effective population size because their gene frequencies are correlated and this will increase the genetic drift. The published equation for the variance effective size, Ne, which includes the possibility of nonrandom mating, does not take into account such a correlation, however. Further, previous equations to pre...
متن کاملKin selection is implicated in partial sib-mating populations with constant viability differences before mating.
The change in the frequency of a rare mutant allele under constant sex-differentiated viability selection in an infinite, partial full-sib mating population is studied. The diplo-diploid and haplo-diploid polygynous models are considered with a Poisson distribution for the number of offspring produced by every mated female. Reproduction is followed by weak selection among the offspring and then...
متن کاملConstant Size Ring Signature Without Random Oracle
Ring signature enables an user to anonymously sign a message on behalf of a group of users termed as ‘ring’ formed in an ‘ad-hoc’ manner. A naive scheme produces a signature linear in the size of the ring, but this is extremely inefficient when ring size is large. Dodis et al. proposed a constant size scheme in EUROCRYPT’13, but provably secure in random oracle model. Best known result without ...
متن کاملGene Genealogies within the Organismal Pedigrees of Random-mating Populations.
Using computer simulations, we generated and analyzed genetic distances among selectively neutral haplotypes transmitted through gene genealogies with random-mating organismal pedigrees. Constraints and possible biases on haplotype distances due to correlated ancestry were evaluated by comparing observed distributions of distances to those predicted from an inbreeding theory that assumes indepe...
